Who we are

RAMS Pal ("we", "us") runs ramspal.co.uk, an online tool for preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). You can reach us at info@ramspal.co.uk.

These terms apply when you use the site and when you buy from it. By creating an account or making a purchase you accept them.

What RAMS Pal does, and what it does not

RAMS Pal turns the answers you give about a job into a RAMS document: the risk assessment, method statement, PPE, emergency arrangements and sign-off records. It is a documentation support tool. It does not provide professional health and safety advice, and it does not replace a competent person, a health and safety consultant, or the duties of a Principal Contractor or Principal Designer.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, for reviewing every document against the actual work, site, workforce and equipment before you use it, and for meeting your own legal duties as an employer, contractor or duty holder.

Accounts, and buying without one

You can buy a single document without an account. We then recognise you by a cookie in your browser, and the email we send with each document contains a private link back to it — keep it. Packs and Pro need an account, so that unused credits and a subscription can be managed from any device.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with your account. RAMS Pal is for people aged 18 or over who use it for work.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout, in pounds sterling. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.

Payments are taken by Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us. Receipts are sent by email, and account holders can see their payment history on the Billing page.

Credits

A single document and Pack 5 are bought as credits:

• A single purchase gives one credit and Pack 5 gives five. Issuing one document uses one credit, and so does duplicating one, because a duplicate is a new document.
• Credits do not expire. They cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another person or account.
• A credit bought without an account belongs to the browser it was bought in. When you create an account, it moves to the account.
• Deleting a document does not give its credit back. Deleting your account deletes any unused credits with it.

The Pro subscription

• Pro is charged monthly at the price shown when you subscribe, and lets you issue as many documents as you need while it is active.
• It renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page; Pro then continues until the end of the month you have paid for and does not renew.
• If a renewal payment fails, we will email you and the card will be tried again over the next few days. If the renewal is still unpaid, Pro ends a few days after the renewal date.
• We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any change to the Pro price, so that you can cancel before it applies.

Cancellation and refunds

If you buy for your business — as most of our customers do — the consumer right to cancel does not apply. If something we supplied is faulty, tell us and we will put it right or refund you.

If you buy as a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of your purchase. A credit you have not used is refunded in full. Before you pay, we ask you to confirm that you want your purchase to start straight away; so once you use a credit to issue a document, that document has been supplied at your request and can no longer be cancelled. If you cancel Pro within its first 14 days, we may keep an amount for the days you had it.

This does not affect your statutory rights. To cancel or ask for a refund, email info@ramspal.co.uk.

Your documents and your information

The documents you create and the information you enter are yours. You allow us to store and process them only to provide the service: to generate, store and email your documents and to show them to you. Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal data.

If you enter information about other people — your operatives, your client, a site contact — you must have the right to do so.

Fair use

• Do not try to obtain documents without paying, interfere with the service, or access anyone else's account or documents.
• Do not copy RAMS Pal's content, including the wording of its documents and guides, to build or supply a competing service.
• We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.

Our responsibility to you

We take reasonable care to keep RAMS Pal working and its content accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors, and each document depends on the answers given for it.

We are not responsible for loss caused by using a document without reviewing it, by information you entered, or by events outside our reasonable control. If you buy for your business, we are not liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Changes, and ending

We may update RAMS Pal and these terms. If a change affects you in a way that matters, we will tell you before it takes effect. You can stop using RAMS Pal at any time and delete your account, and everything in it, from Settings.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts decide any dispute. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
