RAMS for HVAC Contractors

An HVAC RAMS is mostly about getting heavy plant to awkward places safely: condensers onto roofs, air handling units into plant rooms, ductwork overhead in occupied buildings. Sites read it for the lifting plan, the roof access and the electrical isolation, and for how the work is kept clear of the people using the building.

A RAMS Pal document for HVAC work asks about lifting equipment, roof access, confined plant rooms, electrical isolation and refrigerant handling, and turns the answers into the planned lift, the edge protection, the isolation and permit steps and the manual handling controls in the method statement. Noise from plant and tools, and the interface with occupants, are scored alongside them.

Split system installation, rooftop condensers, ductwork, plant replacement, F-Gas servicing and AHU maintenance are all covered, and the competencies section records F-Gas certification, IPAF and CSCS cards for each operative.
